Feed My Starving Children
The story of Flixlocker really began as a burning ember of passion in founder Doug Anderson’s heart for children. Children are the most visible victims of under-nutrition. Children who are poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness each year. Under-nutrition magnifies the effect of every disease, including measles and malaria. About 13% or 1 in 7 people are hungry. According to studies, hunger kills 13,000 children a day. For a child, nutritious food is more than life-saving; it can be that critical difference whether a child achieves his or her full potential.
To us, Flixlocker is the tool to provide the food to help alleviate hunger across the planet. For that reason, at least 10% our profits will go to fighting hunger on the front line. Our partner in that fight is Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization that distributes culturally-neutral, nutritious meals to nearly 70 countries through more than 90 missions and humanitarian agencies. In most cases, the free food is used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics, and community feeding programs that contribute to long-term community development.
